Jacksonville state comes in at 8-4 on the year as Louisiana Lafayette comes in at 6-6
Both of these teams come in relatively healthy. One key pending injury is the status of UL Lafayette center which is up in the air until game time.
One advantage that the Rajun Cajuns will have is that it will be close to home. Being that the game is taking place in the Caesars superdome in New Orleans. They will have the home crowd behind them (pending how many people show up to this game)
Jacksonville state time has been playing better as of late. Winning 4 of their last 5 games with its loss coming to South Carolina a SEC opponent to while they only lost to by 10 points.
The Rajun Cajuns on the other hand come into this game losing 3 of their last 5. So we have 2 teams going in opposition directions here to end the year.
The question is will the bowl matchup and the home crowd be enough to lift the Rajun Cajuns to victory? I would think not as Jacksonville state plays defense pretty well ranking high in many defensive categories and we all know that defense travels anywhere.
To me there’s not much to look further into as I feel Jacksonville state comes in with the better defense and better offense. I think the Game cocks should control the game and not have too much trouble winning this game despite being “on the road”.
