My Texas v. Washington College Playoff Lean for Tonight

The All State Sugar Bowl is looking to bring us all a dandy, with Texas and Washington set to face off for a national championship berth! Here’s my short synopsis on each team and lean for the game.

Washington Huskies:

The Huskies come in as the PAC 12 champs and the PAC 12 has been no joke this year in my eyes. The only team that has a loss in bowls so far is Oregon state. They had tons of options outs. Every other PAC 12 team has won their bowl game outright and most other than Arizona in impressive style.

Washington has struggled against some teams in the PAC 12. Notably a recent struggle against rival Washington state in the last game of the season, but then bounce right back and beat an Oregon team that was favored by 10 points against them. I do believe Michael Penix will be the best QB on the field in my opinion. He has some weapons NFL prospect Rome Odunze and running back Dillon Johnson. As for Washington’s defense, it has played stout at times and showed weaknesses other times. It has some talent on that defensive line as well so this Washington team is well rounded.

Texas Longhorns:

The Long horns come in with an impressive resume themselves. Absolutely demolishing Oklahoma state in the big 12 championship game. The big 12 conference has fared well in bowl games as well this bowl season so that conference is no slouch either.

Texas will be without their lead rusher Jonathon Brooks for this game. But one of the longhorns strengths is their offensive line so they will have other backs ready to rush right behind it. QB Quinn Ewers has looked much better this year in the pocket to me compared to last year where I thought he was the longhorns weakness. Where the Longhorns struggled this season has been against the passing game, that’s where Washington is elite and explosive with Penix at QB. Their defensive backs have given up many explosive plays this year.

All in all I expect it to be a dandy in the all state sugar bowl. The line currently sits at +3.5 at the time of this writing I would lean toward the huskies in which should be a exciting game to watch.

My lean : Huskies +3.5
