Saturday Night NFL Showdown

Pros and cons for the lions and the cowboys in this NFC game with playoff seeding implications.

Lions Pros:

The lions come into this game fresh off clinching the NFC North division for the first time ever! Jared Goff and the lions offense plays exceptionally well on turf averaging 27.3 points per game this year. They still have a shot at the #1 overall seed in playoffs this year.

Lions Cons:

With as many points that the lions have put up they’ve given up almost as much. Their total DVOA this year has dropped week after week to #14 as they started as a top D pretty early on. Another con is Jared Goff against a good pass rush and blitz he’s nutritious for playing bad against a good blitz scheme and we all know Micah Parsons is on the other side of that line the cowboys and NFLs premier rusher.

Cowboys Pros:

The cowboys have hit a rough patch lately but the problem seems to be on the road. When at home the cowboys have scored no less than 30 points all season! Expect them to be running and gunning to the cadence of Dak Prescott’s “Here we gooooo!” all night. The cowboys are also still fighting for the NFC East which they gave control back to the eagles after dropping their last 2 so they can’t afford to slip up because they need a wild card berth at the very least.

Cowboys Cons:

The cowboys have a below .500 record against teams with a winning record this year. Their record sits at 2-4 against winning teams this year and we all know the Lions are not a joke. For as good as the cowboys defense can be at times they haven’t showed up against good teams this year. We’ll see how this shapes up Saturday night.

CJ’s Opinion Checklist 👇

  • Better coach- Dan Cambell (slightly)
  • Better QB- Jared Goff (you can say what you want Goff can throw dimes and Dak doesn’t show up when it matters)
  • Better Defense- Cowboys

This game has playoff seeding and spot implications so both teams will be giving us max effort. Enjoy this Saturday game as NFL regular season comes close to an end sadly. Not to worry playoffs will be around the corner!

Thanks Vic that’s the write up for today
