Another underwhelming matchup today on Thursday night with the jets and Browns. The good thing is it’s an opportunity to get down some action on an NFL game.
We have the Browns and Jets playing in Cleveland today let’s see some pros and cons for each team.
Jets:
Pros: The jets are coming off a win against the commanders last week. To be honest there’s not much to be raving about the jets this year. I do think the Jets will come out with max effort considering Coach Robert Saleh is coaching for his job and all things aside the jets still have the #3 defense per DVOA.
Cons: The Jets are on their 4th QB of the year in Trevor Simien. The QB position has been the demise of the jets all year since Aaron Rodgers went down game 1. On the contrary of the jets having a top defense they have a bottom 3 offense per DVOA this year. The Jets are 2-4 on the road this year beating the (cough,cough) broncos, and Giants which is essentially a neutral field game for them. Let’s just say anywhere outside of New York hasn’t been to kind to the jets.
Browns:
Pros: The browns come into this game looking to have a slight shot at the #1 seed in the AFC if they can win outright and the ravens can lose outright these next 2 games. The Browns come in with the #1 defense in the NFL per DVOA. This defensive unit is not a joke and at home they play even better allowing an average of only 13.1 points per game at home this season.
Cons: Like the Jets the QB position although Joe Flacco has done a valiant job of stepping in has plagued the Browns all season. The last 3 quarterbacks the browns have faced have all been sub par or hurt. Case Keenum (backup), Just Fields(need I say more), Trevor Lawrence (he was hurt and forced himself to play on a high ankle sprain). The last loss came to a pretty good and healthy rams team so I’m not sure what to make of Flacco in this offense just yet.

- Better Defense: Browns D (slightly)
The line sits at -7.5 which is about accurate in my opinion. The total for this game at the time of this write up is a whopping 35 which doesn’t surprise me considering these are 2 good defenses playing here. Enjoy your Thursday night and good luck if you have any side in this game.
